Hello all, I'm sure this is a recurring post but I'm starting work out there in late August and keen to join the club and generally get involved.
Any tips on the best places to live, football teams and golf clubs to join would be much appreciated.
Cheers

David
Like yourself I would appreciate info on best places to watch games in dubai and to meet up with fellow suppporters. I am moving out to live/ work there during the first week in July.
Regarding places to live etc I suppose it depends on the status when you go out [i.e. single/ married /family] and money as rent is very expensive as I'm sure you now.
I am moving as a family [wife and kids joining me late August] and have looked at areas to live [3 bed villa type accommodation] at the Springs; Arabian ranches and Mirdif.
Cheers

Welcome to Dubai guys - I moved here a year ago and managed to watch some matches in Biggles Bar, Millenium Hotel (nr airport) - the place was jumping for OF and Euro matches.
It is a good venue and a great location as I live close by in Al Warqaa - very close to Mirdiff David...
The biggest problem is that some matches are just not aired here for example the QOS final was supposed to be on but at 18.00 hrs (Dubai time) we were all gathered and alas the hotel didnt have the game on.
But that is typical of life here in general and we all just have to get used to it...let me know once you have landed and mibbee catch up for a pint as I am a bachelor boy from the 22nd June (mrs and kids off for some cool air in Aberdeen / Thurso).

I'm also moving to Dubai next week, so would be interested in joining the club. Is there a formal membership, or is it just a group who get together whenever games are being screened?
Managed to get housing sorted out, but golf club is still a bit of an issue.
Cheers
