Dear Gentlemen,
The sub committee met and the following was decided.
1. The function will go ahead on the 31st May as planned at a cost per person of BD 10
2. Because of the lack of time to get a suitable speaker it has been decided to have the social without a main after dinner speaker.
- Essentially the evening will be an end of season “get together” with Scottish theme food; Bahrain police band entertainment at the beginning of the evening to welcome guests and also to do a turn just after dinner, the traveling Beer Bellies to provide both Scottish Cheilidh music and music from 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Booze sponsored by African & Eastern (half a bottle ahead plus discounted wines and drinks) Good value for the price!
- After the meal there will be a couple of short speeches and also a presentation of two cheques to a local Bahraini charity and Scottish charity (such as Erskine Homes). Suggestions are welcome over the next week in this respect.
- We want a concerted effort from all the membership to make this a good night and therefore we have targeted 80 as our minimum requirement for a successful evening.
- The attached poster can be circulated around friends and colleagues.
Can you therefore put together your tables and numbers expected by next Wednesday morning 16th May and email Noril on noril@tibc.com.bh or telephone on 17570307? If the majority of us can put together a table of 10 then we will have no bother whatsoever in meeting our targets and making this a great night.
P.S. For the new season we will plan functions (especially a Sportsman’s and end of season function) well ahead of planned dates to maximize speaker options, sponsorship etc.
Regards,
Ally
