Moving To Dubai 2nd March 07

Alright lads,
I'm moving over to Dubai with work for a couple of years on March 2nd and I'm keen to take in as many Gers matches as possible.
Any info on where to meet or who to contact on arriving would be appreciated.

Hi Craig,
You will be made more than welcome.
In terms of watching matches it is a bit of a hit or miss and we are at the behest of ART the local Arab channel if they show the games or not.
The one place that does have them on and where there is always a corner of Bears is Biggles Bar within The Millennium Airport Hotel, other problem is depending on where you are living it can be a right bar stewart to get to with the trafiic over the Garoud Bridge but we are known in there and they always give us at least one screen if the match is being shown.
Initial contacts are myself George Wilson on 050 624 3507 or Grant Douglas on 050 625 1646, ther are many other Bears you will meet and there are ones who play golf and there is even a regular Friday morning game of footie at Safa Park with other Expats if you can get out your bed after a session on the Thursday night, aye English and Catholics but we rise above that sort of thing in Dubai, unless we are having a Sash Up, which happens on a regular basis, check out the photos on the website for a flavour of the functions, most recently where we beat the Soap dodgers for the third year in a row at the golf.
We just recently had a new guy from Annieland, Willie Ayre but he claims he is a Jags supporter although on closer inspection of his hand shake he is from the correct side.
